THE INTERNATIONAL

Plot:

Interpol agent Louis Salinger (Owen) and Assistant District Attorney Eleanor Whitman (Watts) team up to tackle the biggest and most dangerous assignment of their lives. While investigating possible corruption within the biggest bank in the world the pair realize that the banks power and control extends to governments globally and they will do whatever it takes, even murdering anyone that tries to expose the banks involvement into financing terrorism. The only way to bring down this beast, Salinger finds out, is to become a beast himself, compromising his strong belief in the justice system that he has sworn to uphold.

Reel Talk:

I liked this movie, it had all the elements for a good thriller movie - good guys, bad guys, conspiracy, intensity and action. It actually had a good plot that was consistent throughout the movie. Clive Owen as the intense Interpol agent, brings that same vibe that he displayed in Shoot Em Up. You'll find this to be evident in the art gallery scene, which is one of the movies highlight moments. Naomi Watts puts in a blah performance, but its not her fault, the role just didn't require much from her character. This movie is not a must see but a worthwhile if you choose to see it.
