Cloverfield

On the night that a group of friends set out to celebrate the promotion and going away of one of their homeboy, a giant monster from who knows where attacks New York, sending the city into complete chaos. All while the small group attempts to get out the city, they are filming the events on their video camera (the whole film is filmed from the camera). The monster begins to let loose some smaller creatures that chase the group through the subways of the city, while they try to go back for a friend that is trapped in one of the knocked over skyscrapers.
Cloverfield is not the most screen friendly film that you will see, because it is shot with the video cam, but it gets a big nod for the plot. The sound effects also play a big part of keeping your interest in this movie. A worthwhile film.
